Peter Bull
Regional Director, Americas
Peter is the Regional Director for the Americas, based in Los Angeles. He is responsible for leadership of all NZTE activities in North and South America.
Peter has had an extensive career in the food and horticultural industries in New Zealand and overseas. Prior to joining Industry New Zealand in 2002 as Director, Niche Developments, and then Sector Director, Food and Beverages for NZTE, he held general management positions with Zespri and ENZA. He has also worked in new product development, food processing and the agricultural chemical industry. Peter's overseas experience includes working in Latin America and the Pacific.
Peter has a Master of Business Administration from Auckland and a Master of Horticultural Science (first class Honours) from Lincoln University.

Shaun Conroy
Regional Director, North East Asia
Shaun is Regional Director, North East Asia – overseeing the operations of NZTE’s offices and key relationships in Japan and Korea, New Zealand’s third and sixth largest export markets respectively. Shaun is based in Tokyo.
Prior to his current appointment in November 2007, Shaun was the CEO of a public company in Australia specialising in nutraceuticals, functional food, and health supplement ingredients, exporting to North Asia.
Shaun has extensive international business management experience with particular focus in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom. A New Zealander, he has lived and worked in a managerial capacity in the food industry, investment banking, lease finance and insurance in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Brisbane.

Tim Green
Regional Director, Australia and the Pacific
A diverse background in corporate finance and strategy consulting has contributed to Tim’s appointment to his current role, which involves leading New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s operations in Australia and the Pacific Islands.
He has significant experience in promoting New Zealand businesses having held a number of other roles with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise including Trade Commissioner (Sydney), Sector Director for Tourism, and before that managing a strategic review of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s global operations following the organisation’s establishment via the merger of Trade NZ and Industry NZ in 2003.
Tim was a member of the inaugural management team of the New Zealand Racing Board, in a role jointly focused on growing the New Zealand racing industry and improving the commercial performance of the New Zealand TAB.

Alan Koziarski
Regional Director, South and Southeast Asia
Alan manages New Zealand’s trade development in South and Southeast Asia, overseeing offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, The Philippines and India.
Specialising in business-government partnerships for economic development, Alan’s focus has been competitive development through collaboration.
Prior to his appointment as Regional Director, Alan was Director, Globally Competitive Firms, where he led a major initiative focusing on accelerating the growth of New Zealand firms in international markets.
Alan, who joined NZTE in 2001, has also been responsible for developing and implementing the clusters and networks programme. The programme provided support and advice to established and new industry clusters, including biotech, forestry, food and ICT.
Prior to NZTE, Alan was involved in the start-up of two communications companies and as an international cluster development consultant. His role in cluster development gained international recognition as Vice-President (AP) of The Competitiveness Institute (TCI) in Barcelona. He has an M.A. (Hons) in Political Science from Canterbury University, New Zealand.

Richard Laverty
Regional Director, Europe, Middle East and Africa
Richard is the Regional Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in Hamburg. Richard works to promote and facilitate trade opportunities and strategic alliances throughout these regions and oversees ten NZTE posts.
Richard has 18 years of food and beverage industry experience spanning engineering, R&D, business development, strategy, and general management, gained during a career within the New Zealand dairy industry. During his time with Fonterra, Richard spent eight years working in Europe, based in Hamburg. This included two years as General Manager, with responsibility for their added-value milk protein business.
In 2001 Richard returned to New Zealand, to take up roles in corporate strategy and ingredients marketing. After leaving Fonterra in April 2004, Richard has been involved in launching a beverage technology business start-up, of which he is a director and shareholder.
Richard graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Chemical and Process Engineering from Canterbury, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dairy Science and Technology from Massey University.
