Anne Chappaz
Regional Director, Europe, Middle East and Africa
Anne started her career with the Shipping Corporation of New Zealand before taking on administration of export logistics for the French mountaineering and caving equipment company Petzl in Grenoble. This was followed by a stint in Bordeaux, acting as a trader and consolidator of electrical and electronic products into North East Africa and Southeast Asia. A return to New Zealand in 1997 saw a new role exporting ready-to-assemble furniture.
In 2000, Anne joined the public sector and became the national sector specialist for the apparel, textile and fashion sector before being posted to Canada (from 2003 to 2008) - first as Trade Commissioner and Consul General in Vancouver, then as the Director West Americas, covering NZTE operations in Canada, Western US and Mexico. Anne's previous role at NZTE was that of Director, Regions and Business Intelligence, which involved over all responsibility for the six NZTE regional offices around New Zealand.
Anne holds Masters Degrees in Economic Geography from Auckland and in English from Bordeaux III. She is a fluent French speaker and is based in Hamburg.

Shaun Conroy
Regional Director, North East Asia
Shaun is Regional Director, North East Asia – overseeing the operations of NZTE’s offices and key relationships in Japan and Korea, New Zealand’s third and sixth largest export markets respectively. Shaun is based in Tokyo.
Prior to his current appointment in November 2007, Shaun was the CEO of a public company in Australia specialising in nutraceuticals, functional food, and health supplement ingredients, exporting to North Asia.
Shaun has extensive international business management experience with particular focus in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom. A New Zealander, he has lived and worked in a managerial capacity in the food industry, investment banking, lease finance and insurance in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Brisbane.

Alan Koziarski
Regional Director, South and Southeast Asia
Alan manages New Zealand’s trade development in South and Southeast Asia, overseeing offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, The Philippines and India.
Specialising in business-government partnerships for economic development, Alan’s focus has been competitive development through collaboration.
Prior to his appointment as Regional Director, Alan was Director, Globally Competitive Firms, where he led a major initiative focusing on accelerating the growth of New Zealand firms in international markets.
Alan, who joined NZTE in 2001, has also been responsible for developing and implementing the clusters and networks programme. The programme provided support and advice to established and new industry clusters, including biotech, forestry, food and ICT.
Prior to NZTE, Alan was involved in the start-up of two communications companies and as an international cluster development consultant. His role in cluster development gained international recognition as Vice-President (AP) of The Competitiveness Institute (TCI) in Barcelona. He has an M.A. (Hons) in Political Science from Canterbury University, New Zealand.

Rod MacKenzie
Regional Director, China
Rod joined NZTE from Trade New Zealand in July 2003. During his time at Trade New Zealand he held roles as senior trade commissioner for North America, general manager marketing and eBusiness and acting CEO for six months before the merger with Industry New Zealand. Before joining Trade New Zealand in 1996, Rod was the inaugural chief executive of The New Zealand Way. Rod has also had many years experience in the private sector as a director and senior public relations and marketing consultant.

Marta Mager
Regional Director, Americas
Marta is the Regional Director for the Americas, based in Los Angeles. She is responsible for leadership of all NZTE activities in North and South America.
Marta has held several roles with NZTE, including a posting as Consul General and Trade Commissioner in Europe. Prior to joining the New Zealand public sector, Marta has held strategy and consulting roles in the private sector, mainly in technology businesses, in Europe and in New Zealand.
Marta holds a Masters Degree in industrial engineering and business administration from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. In addition to English, Marta speaks Italian, German, and French.

Michelle Templer
Regional Director, Australia Pacific
Michelle is Regional Director Australia Pacific, based in Sydney. She has worked for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise since 1999, during which time she has been involved in leading international and regional business development teams, supporting company funding and investment proposals, and working with industry networks.
At the heart of her current role is facilitating enhanced international competitiveness and success for New Zealand companies considering or established in the Australia Pacific region. Michelle is focused on building high level business and strategic partnerships that provide meaningful market insight on opportunities, lead generation and thought leadership, to maximise returns from the region for New Zealand companies. Another key focus is ensuring cohesive delivery of support and interventions as part of the global NZTE and NZ Inc network that actively supports the Government's economic growth agenda.
At a personal level Michelle is motivated by seeing the impact of successful business and sustainable wealth creation on communities and economic growth. Her corporate experience includes farming, the tourism industry and FMCG sector, leveraging an educational background in media, international management, marketing, and promotional strategy.
