How to access NZTE programmes and services

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) supports businesses to grow internationally with a range of services, programmes and information. You can access some guides and information online,  but programmes and services may have eligibility criteria around firm size or level of development.

Firms that qualify, work with an NZTE account manager to access a tailored package of services. In order to generate the greatest benefits for New Zealand, NZTE works most intensively with businesses who are most likely to succeed in the short to medium term.

Programmes that you must qualify for to access

As a publicly funded organisation, NZTE has to make the best use of necessarily limited resources. For this reason, some of NZTE’s programmes are only available to New Zealand businesses who have reached a certain stage of development. When determining our level of engagement with a business we consider a number of factors, such as:

  • the track record, detailed current capability and strategic aims of the business
  • the likelihood that the use of NZTE resources for the business will result in significant and ongoing net returns to New Zealand’s economy
  • the degree to which NZTE’s specific interventions are likely to add value, and whether or not they can be substituted by other organisations or means.

If you are interested in accessing any of the following, please be aware your business would need to undergo a rigorous assessment process. This helps us determine whether your business meets our criteria.

  • Brand Partner programme – The Brand Partner programme enables qualified businesses to use the Fern Mark in selected international markets.
  • Beachheads programme – Connects businesses to a network of advisors who can provide detailed insights into doing business in specific international markets.
  • Path to Market programme – An invitation only programme, Path to Market bundles services from NZTE with expertise from the private sector to help companies enter Australia.
  • Lean Business programme – Helps manufacturing businesses improve performance and eliminate inefficient processes.
  • Better by Design – Helps exporters increase growth and international competitiveness through the better use of design.
  • Manufacturing+ programme – Designed to help businesses ensure their products meet customer needs.
  • Customised offshore research – Targeted at New Zealand businesses at an advanced stage in their export planning who are deemed to have the capability to internationalise. Please contact us for more information on this service.

Funds

  • International Growth Fund – Targeted at businesses already working closely with NZTE. These are businesses assessed as being most likely to succeed internationally in the short to medium term and contribute to New Zealand’s long-term growth.
