PRESENTED BY: Rod Drury – Director, Aftermail

Rod Drury is a technologist and entrepreneur with 20 years of international IT experience. He was most recently founder and CEO of AfterMail, a next generation email management software company, which was acquired by Quest Software earlier this year.

Graduating from University in the mid-1980s, Rod worked for Arthur Young/Ernst & Young as a consultant before starting Glazier Systems (now Intergen) in 1995 building customised business and workflow applications.

Rod was also founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Context Connect and holds key patents in the Directories area. This business was sold to Advantage Group in 1999 and Rod spent the next few years as CTO for that company, including a year in the USA in the middle of the dot.com boom where he got valuable exposure to the finance and funding side of technology.

Rod was New Zealand’s first representative on Microsoft's worldwide MSDN Regional Director programme from 1997 to 2000 and a Microsoft MVP. Rod was also an Independent Director of TradeMe.

By 2004 having understudied as CEO for several companies he was ready to step up and create his own software business - AfterMail. AfterMail is a participant in New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s Beachheads programme which has assisted in accelerating the company’s international growth.
