NZTE publishes Annual Report

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise has released its Annual Report for 2010/11.

In addition to reporting on all six outcome measures indicated the Statement of Intent 2010-14, the report outlines all financial information, how NZTE has helped with the Canterbury recovery effort and work on multi-company projects.

This year NZTE has produced the Annual Report in a web-friendly ebook as well as a print friendly pdf.

Highlights

  • Over 4500 business people accessed NZTE’s business development services including mentoring and training
  • More than 520 companies participated in NZTE’s long-term, high-impact strategic initiatives and sector projects.
  • NZTE engaged intensively with more than 450 Key Account and Pipeline customers, and supported a further 4000 businesses who received transactional services or referrals.
  • 89 percent of Key Account and Pipeline customers rated NZTE’s performance as good, very good or excellent.
  • NZTE was involved in 300 deals.
  • NZTE staff around the world introduced New Zealand businesses to more than 3000 international opportunities
  • Over 100 businesses were advised by Beachheads advisors located in Europe, North America, South America, Southeast Asia, China and Japan.
  • Nearly 80 companies were assisted through the Better by Design programme
  • Fifty businesses received assistance to improve productivity through the Lean Business programme
  • Just over $20 million was granted to 47 businesses through the International Growth Fund.
  • NZTE was involved in closing 15 investment deals with a foreign direct investment value of $613 million.
  • 10 investor visits to New Zealand were supported through the Visiting Investor Programme.
  • $1.19 million was allocated through the Strategic Investment Fund to support investment feasibility studies.
  • NZTE launched the $4 million Christchurch Market Connections Fund within 21 days of the February earthquake event, helping more than 260 Christchurch exporters rebuild relationships with their customers around the world.
  • With the Ministry of Science and Innovation, NZTE set up a national network of 14 regional partners. The first regional partner was established in October 2010 and by June 2011, more than 1000 businesses had been assessed, and capability development vouchers worth more than $780,000 had been distributed.
