  • Grant Fuller

    Director, Board and Ministerial

    As Director Board and Ministerial, Grant has responsibility for NZTE’s ministerial and government relations functions and for ensuring that NZTE has good working relationships with it Board, the Ministers and Ministerial staff. This includes NZTE’s advisors in the offices of the Minister of Economic Development and Minister of Trade.
    Prior to his current role Grant was NZTE’s Advisor in the Minister of Economic Development’s office.
    Grant has had extensive experience in economic development and trade promotion in New Zealand and internationally, particularly in the wood, technology, education and plastics industries.
    He has held a number of international roles including Trade Commissioner for Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia, Trade Commissioner in Shanghai and Trade Commissioner in Singapore.
    Grant has a Masters in Commerce (Hons) in Business Administration.

  • Jane Cunliffe

    Director, NZ Inc Relationships

    As Director NZ Inc relationships, Jane is responsible for overseeing NZTE’s broader relationships and interaction with NZ Inc agencies and stakeholders.
     
    Prior to her current role Jane was NZTE’s Advisor in the Minister of Trade, Hon Tim Groser’s office.
     
    Qualified as a lawyer, Jane has extensive experience in economic development, and has worked with both private and government sectors promoting New Zealand companies and sectors in international market development.
     
    Jane has had a number of international roles including in New York and Milan as New Zealand Consul General/Trade Commissioner and in Suva and Port Moresby. She spent time in Valencia Spain in 2006 and 2007 running the New Zealand’s leveraging programme for the America’s Cup, and also spent 18 months as Director International Affairs and Chairman’s office at the New Zealand Securities Commission. 

    Jane is a founding member and former advisory board director of the US-based Belizean Grove, served as a director on the Anza Technology Network in San Francisco, and is a member of NZ Global Women. She also speaks Italian.

     

  • K-J Dillon

    Director, Strategy

    K-J Dillon leads NZTE’s strategy team which develops and delivers strategies that help NZ firms become more productive and internationally competitive. She is tasked with applying NZTE’s resources to maximise NZTE’s contribution to NZ’s economic development priorities.
     
    K-J has a predominantly private sector background and has developed commercial growth strategies across the cleantech, financial services and telecommunications sectors.  During her time as a member of Meridian Energy’s executive team, K-J initiated and executed a number of high profile strategic initiatives including Meridian’s decision to position itself as a renewables-only carbon netural electricity generator and the creation of NZ’s fast-growing company, powershop.co.nz.
     
    K-J has a strategy consulting background and has worked in Australasia and the United States.  She has university qualifications in strategic management, marketing, Mandarin Chinese, Asian studies and governance.
     

  • Tamara Mapp-Borren

    Director, Service Support

    As Director Service Support, Tamara is responsible for ensuring NZTE’s services are delivered in an integrated and high-quality way that meets the needs of our customers. She and her team work closely with the Design, Better Business and Global Reach teams.
     
    Tamara’s previous role as marketing manager with NZTE included working across our services group, international offices and projects such as health technology.
     
    Tamara has a background in international project management and marketing and communications. She has worked with a variety of industries in strategic planning and communications, including New Zealand Winegrowers and Microsoft New Zealand. She has also spent time in Brussels working with European Union policy advisors and has worked on the executive boards of Pinot Noir 2010 and CanTeen.
     
    Tamara is based in Auckland.

  • Ann Clifford

    Ann Clifford

    Director, Communications

    Ann is responsible for leading and managing NZTE's global strategic communications including the development and delivery of corporate and internal communications, issues management, and media management in New Zealand and offshore.
    Ann has previously run her own communications consultancy, following roles in PR and communications in the UK and in New Zealand. She has been a journalist, editor and publisher, and has written widely about architecture and design.
    Ann has a degree in English literature and Italian literature and language, from Victoria University of Wellington.
    She is based in Wellington.

  • Des Brennan

    Des Brennan

    Director, Marketing

    Des leads NZTE’s marketing team in highlighting New Zealand’s business capability to the international market, and ensuring there is widespread understanding of NZTE’s capabilities by New Zealand businesses.
     
    Previously Des has held senior strategic leadership roles both on and off shore, including as Chief Executive, Yachting New Zealand; International Manager, Montana Wines; General Manager, Auckland Showgrounds; Marketing Director, Fletcher Wood Panels; Director of Sales and Marketing, TVNZ; General Manager, Anchor Foods; and Regional International Director, Max Factor UK.
     
    Highlights include leading TVNZ’s funding of Team New Zealand’s successful America’s Cup challenge in 1995, and the redevelopment of the Anchor brand domestically. Des has also served on the board of Netball New Zealand.
     
    Des has a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry from Victoria University, and a Master of Business Administration with distinction from Massey University. He is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management and a Member of the Institute of Directors.
     
    Des is based in Auckland.

  • Lynette Dixon

    Lynette Dixon

    Director, Audit and Assurance

    As Director Audit and Assurance, Lynette is responsible for providing independent assurance over the adequacy and effectiveness of NZTE’s risk management, governance and control processes.
     
    This assurance is provided to NZTE’s Board, Chief Executive and senior management.
     
    Lynette is also actively involved in training, quality assurance processes and supporting managers to achieve their business objectives.
     
    Lynette is a Chartered Accountant and has extensive experience in providing audit and risk management services. She has held various roles in managing audits and other enquiries for a wide range of entities within the health, education, energy, local government and central government sectors.
     
    This experience, combined with providing advisory and risk management services to those entities, has contributed to Lynette’s broad knowledge of public sector legislation and accountability processes.
     
    Lynette is based in Wellington.

  • Richard Grant

    Richard Grant

    Chief Financial Officer

    Richard is responsible for leading and managing NZTE’s international financial services including financial planning, transactions, reporting, and grants administration.  This encompasses financial policy, budget and forecasting, contact and payment process for most of the NZTE funding programmes and management of foreign exchange risk.
     
    After completing an accounting degree at Victoria University in Wellington, Richard joined Deloitte, qualified as a Chartered Accountant, and then spent two years with Deloitte in London.  After returning to New Zealand, Richard worked in senior financial roles with several publicly listed companies, and immediately prior to joining NZTE was with the New Zealand Dairy Board/Fonterra.
     
    Richard is based in Wellington.

  • Phil Hayward

    Phil Hayward

    Director, Information Technology and Services

    Phil is responsible for the management of NZTE’s IT and Services team.
     
    In this role he oversees information and technology strategies and delivery; library and information management services; facilities including office fit-outs; and the provision of global information technology and facilities services to the organisation.
     
    Phil has more than 25 years experience in the IT sector, including software development with companies as diverse as GlaxoSmithKline and Plumbing World, and running computer operations for MedLab Central and CentralPower.
     
    Prior to joining one of NZTE’s predecessor organisations, Industry New Zealand, in 2001 as IT Manager, Phil spent six years running IT operations in the electricity industry with TransAlta and Natural Gas Corporation.
     
    Phil has a Bachelor’s degree in Computing from Massey University and a post graduate qualification in business administration from Otago University.
     
    Phil is based in Wellington.

  • Meredith MacNab

    Meredith MacNab

    Director, Performance Measurement Framework

    Meredith leads the development of NZTE’s performance measurement framework, which demonstrates a return on government’s investment and provides performance information to assist strategic and operational decision making.
     
    Prior to joining NZTE, Meredith worked at Tourism New Zealand in various roles including Market Research Manager (Wellington) and five years in Asia as Regional Manager Southeast Asia (Singapore) and Manager Thailand (Bangkok). She has private sector experience as a strategic consultant with Ernst and Young and as account manager for Heylen Research Ltd.
     
    Meredith has a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (BCA) and a Post Graduate Diploma in e-commerce, both from Victoria University.
     
    Meredith is based in Auckland.

  • Jasmine Tietjens

    Jasmine Tietjens

    Corporate Counsel

    Jasmine Tietjens leads NZTE’s Legal and Governance team. The team provides legal advice to NZTZE offices on and offshore, and ensures NZTE’s Board follows best practice from a governance perspective.
     
    Jasmine has previously worked in private practice, the private sector (with Ernst and Young and Telecom) and in a number of government departments (including the Treasury and Inland Revenue).
     
    Born in Penang, Malaysia, she completed an LLB (Hons) at Queen’s University, Belfast, and an LL.M (Hons) at Canterbury University. She has been in New Zealand since 1996.
     
    Jasmine is based in Wellington.
