Help using NZTE website tools

A set of tools has been designed to help you carry out frequent actions on pages on the NZTE website.

These tools are visible and accessible on all pages of the site, except for the Home page. You will see them on the upper right-hand side of each page.

This page describes the tools and how to use them, and presents remedies for some potential problems that might occur.

An RSS feature has also been added to select areas of the site. How to use the RSS feature is also covered in this page.

Tools

  • You can use the Print Page button to print any page on the NZTE website. This performs the same action as the Print this Page button on the left-hand side of each page on the site.
  • When you click on Print Page, a printer-friendly version of the page will be displayed in a new window. You will need to select your printer from the pop up box, allowing you to print the page.
  • Your printed page will include the main page content including images.

  • This feature allows you to send an email with a link to the page you are on.
  • When you click Email Page, you’ll be taken to a form where you can type in the details of the email.
  • You can send the email to up to five email addresses.
  • The email will include your personal message if you include one, as well as the name of the page and a link to it.
  • To maximise your security and to prevent spam there is a security question. Please type in the words as you see them. For help, look to the buttons on the right-hand side.

Bookmark Page

  • You can use the Bookmark Page tool to create direct links to up to 10 pages for quick reference at any time.
  • Your bookmarked pages will appear in the NZTE bookmarks panel under the Bookmark Page button.
  • When more than 10 bookmarks are added, the last bookmark in the panel will be removed, making room for the most recently bookmarked page.
  • You can remove bookmarks from the panel by clicking on the [x] symbol.
  • You can open or close the bookmarks panel.

Recently Viewed Pages

  • The 10 web pages that you have visited will show up on the Recently Viewed panel; allowing you quick access to where you’ve already been on the site.
  • When more than 10 pages have been visited, the panel will show the most recently viewed page at the top; older pages you’ve visited will be removed from the bottom of the list.
  • You can open or close the recently viewed panel.

Using RSS

RSS feeds are available for the following sections on the NZTE website:

  • Explore Export Markets: Export intelligence reports (changes during the last seven days)
  • Explore Export Markets: Market research by industry (changes during the last 14 days)
  • Press Room: Press releases (changes during the last seven days)

If you use RSS, you can click on the RSS button to view and subscribe to the feed.

What is RSS?

RSS is "Really Simple Syndication" and enables you to automatically receive news and information feeds directly. Subscribing to free RSS feeds of your favourite online content is an easy way to keep up to date.

How does the RSS feature work?

When you see a button with the “RSS” button on a page, you can subscribe to the feed for that area of content by clicking on the RSS button. When new content is added to that area, or the content changes, the site will automatically update your RSS reader.

What do I need to use the RSS feature?

To subscribe to and receive RSS feeds from the NZTE website, you will need an RSS reader or aggregator. This is software that collects feeds you have subscribed to and displays them in one place, so you can view them when it suits you.

You can search for and download many free or inexpensive RSS readers on the web.

To view the RSS feeds displayed on NZTE website, simply click on the RSS button.
