The region has described its identity as “Future Focus Central” and has established a Governance Group to lead the creation of a regional strategy. The group is endorsed by the seven Territorial Local Authorities of the region, covering Wanganui, Ruapehu, Manawatu, Tararua, Horowhenua, Rangitikei and Palmerston North.
Work is under way to collate a wide range of economic and statistical data that will form much of the foundation information for the region’s strategy.
Regional business partner network
NZTE and the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MSI) have created a nationwide network of Regional Business Partners to help businesses access information, funding, training and development services.
These providers may also provide NZTE Capability Development Vouchers to eligible businesses to partially cover the cost of these services.
