Attend business workshops
You can access training by attending workshops run by providers contracted by NZTE. These services are fully funded by NZTE for eligible companies.
You are eligible if you are the owner or manager of a small business employing fewer than 50 full-time staff. (30-hours per week is considered full-time).
Numbers on courses are limited, which means selection criteria may apply to ensure the training is directed towards businesses that will get the most out of it. If a course is not suitable for your needs, your local training provider may direct you towards other options for training and support.
You will need to be prepared to commit time and energy to the programme so the particular development needs of your business are met. In return, you will find the courses increase your motivation, boost your confidence and build your knowledge of specific areas of business management.
Areas of training may include topics such as business systems, marketing and sales, effective market research, conducting international sales and negotiation, and business planning. The exact training programmes that are available will depend on the region your business is located in.
Your first step is to find the Enterprise Training providers in your area and contact them to register your interest. Once you have registered with a provider, you will be asked to complete a core capability questionnaire. This will give the provider an idea of what position your company is in, and what your training needs might be.
Alternatively, you can take the core capability questionnaire online first, and allow an Enterprise Training Provider to access the results later.
