BRUSSELS: The European Commission says the eurozone economy will grow at almost double the rate predicted earlier in the year, the Financial Times reports.
The commission says that the region experienced a growth spurt in the second quarter.
Gross domestic product in the currency bloc is set to increase 1.7 percent in 2010, up from the 0.9 percent forecast in May, the Economic and Financial Affairs directorate announced earlier this week.
