Brazil’s Embraer sees strong growth in regional jets business

RIO DE JANERIO: In its latest 20-year forecast, Brazilian jet manufacturer Embraer is predicting 4.9 percent average annual growth on a global basis for aircraft in the 30-to 120-seat category, AviationBusiness.com reported.

Embraer also anticipated a requirement for 575 new jets in the 30-120 seat category in Asia Pacific in the next 20 years.

71 percent of the anticipated demand is expected to support organic growth, with 29 percent to replace older aircraft.

Embraer is market leader in regional jets market. 

The Brazilian manufacturer reported sales of US$5.5 billion per year and has 48 percent of the 30-110 seat aircraft market.

32 percent of its sales are distributed in Europe, 21 percent in the Asia-Pacific, and 23 percent in the USA.

The company has 16,000 staff and is listed on the Sao Paulo and New York stock exchanges.
