Canadian firm establishing Mexican aircraft components plant

QUERETARO: Canadian aircraft components manufacturer Héroux-Devtek will be investing US$21 million over the next three years to build a production plant in Mexico, according to the Mexico Investor’s Digest.

The plant will be located in the Queretaro Aerospace Park, and is expected to start producing components in early 2012.

“It (the plant) is intended primarily for the manufacture of components for Bombardier Aerospace,” the Mexico Investor’s Digest said.

Bombardier Aerospace is the third largest aircraft manufacturer in the world.

In February this year, Héroux-Devtek won a US$183 million dollars contract to provide components (from fuselage structures to wings beams) to Bombardier Aerospace.
