PARIS: A digital, audiovisual and creative ‘cluster’ is taking shape in Seine Saint-Denis (Northeast of Paris) with the inauguration on 6 December of new film sets and TV studios, while ‘La Cité du Cinéma’ (Cinemaland) is set to open there in mid-2012.
La Cité du Cinema will host Europacorp, Luc Besson’s company. This project was financed by Europa Corp and represents an investment of €130 million.
A number of clusters are starting up as part of the plan to create a ‘greater Paris’.
Local authorities hope that ‘the creative cluster will generate a dynamic process comparable to the launch of the ‘Stade de France’ (France Stadium)’, also located in Seine Saint Denis, and whose presence deeply changed the economic life of this large district next to Paris.
