PARIS: The French agency responsible for healthcare products, Afssaps, has launched a consultation on the maintenance of medical devices.
In France, it is the responsibility of the user of a device within the healthcare establishment to draw up a maintenance policy to guarantee the continued safety of a product.
Afssaps is seeking the views of healthcare professionals, manufacturers and maintenance organisations to establish how well the current regulations work and to what extent changes are needed. The deadline for comments is 22 July.
