HAMBURG: Stock-exchange listed company, Hawesko, reported preliminary sales figures for 2010, stating an increase in turnover of 11.6 percent to €378 million.
Driver of the growth has been the wholesale business to restaurants and hotels, which grew by 25 percent.
This confirms the trend that consumers are again prepared to order premium wines and champagne when dining out.
Their retail chain ‘Jacques’ by contrast stagnated as very early and harsh winter weather kept consumers from driving to the outlets that are typically located on busy roads outside of the inner cities.
