LOS ANGELES: Harvard Business School and Columbia Business School are adding courses on social media to their MBA curricula, to meet corporate demand for employees who are adept at using social networks, Bloomberg reports.
The two schools are among at least six that have set up courses in the past year to allow students to learn about internet marketing and social media strategy, according to course syllabi and faculty associated with the classes.
Sears Holdings, Panasonic, Citigroup, AT&T and other major companies have begun hiring social media directors to develop and manage marketing strategies that address the nuances of the online world.
