BERLIN: Swedish former pharmacy monopolist Apoteket have entered the German market offering a customised sorting and packaging of medication for individuals.
Each patient’s medication is being packaged in small plastic bags at the right individual dose rate.
The service will save personnel in elderly care and home care substantial time and reduce the risk of handing out the wrong medication to a minimum.
The facility is located in the north of Germany and will serve 50,000 patients in the region.
Due to the demographic change, this is considered to be a field with a high growth potential.
Apoteket is planning to roll out the concept all across Germany.
