BUENOS AIRES: Investment in Argentina’s mining sector is tipped to continue on a steady growth trajectory over the coming years, local newspaper El Cronista reported.
Citing the country’s National Secretariat for Mining, El Cronista said that the country was expecting at least 15 new mining projects with investments of up to US$32 billion over the next few years.
Last year, one of Argentina’s main mining provinces Santa Cruz brought in over US$100million in investments.
Current activity in the country’s mining sector includes the acquisition of gold exploration rights covering a 2,800 kilometre area by Peruvian-Australian company Minera IRL, as well as ongoing lithium mining in the North-West of Argentina.
