London: There are plans for online ‘passports’ to allow Chinese foods to be traced from their origin.
The UK Food and Drink Innovation Network said the online listing will be a joint venture between the Shandong Institute of Standardization in China and Norwegian traceability systems provider, TraceTracker.
ChinaTrace will list the provenance of foods in the form of an electronic food passport which will show how ingredients of foods for export were sourced.
It will also show what, if any, tests have been carried out on them.
