SANTIAGO: According to the latest study by the Latin American Consensus Forecast, Chile and Peru lead growth projections in the region.
The results of the survey carried out at Investment Banks indicate that the Peruvian economy will grow 7.3 percent in 2010, boosted by a strong domestic demand. Chile is expected to see growth of 5.2 percent.
Over the longer term, Peru is tipped to have average growth of 6 percent with Chile on 5.0 percent.
Regarding the whole region, the study forecasts a total growth of 5.6 percent, higher than the initial projection of 5.3 percent.
Growth in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay will exceed estimations.
