MADRID: Gamesa has been contracted to provide nine wind turbines for the Mount Stuart wind farm, situated in Otago, New Zealand.
The contract, Gamesa’s first in the Asia Pacific wind energy market, covers manufacturing, transportation and installation of the nine Gamesa G52-850 turbines.
Once operational, the Gamesa turbines will have a combined capacity of almost 8 megawatts (MW), supplying the annual electricity needs of 2,250 households on the Otagone distribution network.
Gamesa is looking to establish a subsidiary in Singapore for more effective coverage of the opportunities and their contracts in the Asia Pacific.
