VICTORIA: A four-episode television series highlighting Victoria’s wine industry is expected to boost consumer awareness of Victorian wine in China.
The series, which will go to air later this year, is expected to reach more than 400 million Chinese viewers.
Australian Minister for Manufacturing, Exports and Trade Richard Dalla-Riva said the series would be beneficial in assisting further export development opportunities for Victoria’s wine industry.
“As China’s economy, per capita income and appetite for sophisticated consumer tastes grow and develop, Victorian food and wine companies have a great opportunity to enter the growing Chinese market, ” Dalla-Riva said in a statement.
The Victorian wine industry currently employs 11,736 people in 820 wineries across 21 wine producing regions.
The series will be produced by WTFN, an independent television production company.
