SAO PAULO: A Brazilian subsidiary of Tetrapack has developed a traceability system for UHT milk, along with Coopercentral Aurora.
According to the CEO of Aurora, Mr Mario Lanznaste, the total volume of 350 thousand litres of UHT milk produced by the cooperative is traceable.
The system allows the consumer to trace on Aurora's site the origin of the milk, package by package, back to the co-operative where it was collected from and where it was sent up for processing. In addition to that, as the system establishes parameters and if there is any non-compliance it is detected and the production stopped.
This system is reported to be the first in the world for UHT milk.
