Turkish committee to review goat milk imports

The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture has approved the establishment of a scientific committee to review importation of baby nutrition products made from goat milk.

It is expected this committee will approve importation from New Zealand’s Dairy Goat Co-operative.

The Turkish importer, Kaprikorn Food Import & Export Ltd, had serious problems when the Ministry changed the regulations on imported baby nutrition and took goat milk off the list.

Both New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) worked with the importer and the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture on this matter.

For more information contact Erhan Dagdemir, Country Manager - Turkey, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), Ankara, Turkey.
