LOS ANGELES: Schwan's Food Service, AdvancePierre Foods and 11 other companies have joined an effort to improve the nutritional value of school lunches, promising healthy options will account for at least half of their sales to schools within five years.
The Alliance for a Healthier Generation was founded by the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation.
