Sign up for the China Compulsory Certification workshop

The Ministry of Economic Development will be running a workshop on the mutual recognition of conformity assessment for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE MRA).

The MRA concerns electrical and electronic products that are subject to the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) system and to the requirements of New Zealand supplier declarations of conformity for such products.

The CCC is the compulsory Safety & Quality mark for many products which are exported to and sold on the Chinese market. CCC was implemented on 1 May 2002 and became fully effective on 1 August 2003.

It is the result of the integration of China's two compulsory inspection systems (one to check contents of products for import and export, and the other for quality control) into a single procedure.

According to Chinese laws and Regulation for Compulsory Product Certification, the Compulsory Product Certification System is applied to products related to human life and health, animals, plants, environmental protection and national security.

Any product covered by the CCC catalogue should acquire the CCC mark before it can be marketed, imported or used for any commercial purposes in China.

The workshop will cover:

  • An overview of the EEE MRA and its key provisions
  • China’s product certification system
  • The catalogue of products subject to compulsory certification
  • Requirements for factory quality assurance
  • Product certification procedure
  • Inspection registration and management.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, 10 March 2010 in Auckland.

For catering purposes and to facilitate the registration process, please confirm your attendance with Alison Peni at alison.peni@med.govt.nz by Friday 5 March 2010.
