Seven winners have been chosen for the 2010 World Class New Zealand awards.
The Awards, presented by Kea New Zealand with support from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, celebrates outstanding individuals who have made major contributions to New Zealand’s success on the world stage.
The 2010 category winners are:
Information & Communications Technology: Ian McCrae, Chief Executive Officer, Orion Health
Creative Industries: Mark D’Arcy, President and Chief Creative Officer, Time Warner Global Media, Group and Senior Vice President, Time Warner
Biotechnology: Dr Jilly Evans, Vice President, Amira Pharmaceuticals
Manufacturing: Bill Gallagher, Chief Executive Officer, Gallagher Group
Research, Science, Technology & Academia: Dr Ian Witten, Professor, University of Waikato
Finance, Investment & Business Services: Sir Ron Carter, Former Managing Director, Beca Carter
New Thinking: Dr Kerry Spackman, Neuroscientist, Owner, The Winners Institute LLC.
The 2010 World Class New Zealand Awards are being held in Auckland on Wednesday, 24 March 2010, in The Great Room at The Langham Hotel.
The Supreme Award and Friend of New Zealand winners will be announced on the night.
The Friend of New Zealand category was introduced this year to acknowledge people working to build global connections with New Zealand and helping to support Kiwi businesses internationally.
