RPS Switchgear manufactures high voltage electrical switchgear and electrical distribution solutions.
It began as a Reyrolle company nearly 90 years ago. Reyrolle originated in the United Kingdom, later establishing manufacturing plants around the world, including New Zealand in 1969.
Over the years, Reyrolle had a succession of multinational owners but in 2004 the New Zealand business, located in Petone near Wellington, was sold to local owners.
It became RPS Switchgear in 2008. Research and development, manufacturing, assembly, project management and sales and marketing are handled from the company’s head office in New Zealand where it employs around 90 staff. RPS Switchgear also has offices in Brisbane and Sydney, South Africa and Kenya.
In addition to manufacturing, it provides product development, design, installation and maintenance-servicing to customers throughout the Asia-Pacific region
