Rocktec Limited is an engineering company that specialises in manufacturing quarrying and mining equipment, material handling machinery and environmental waste solutions.
Based in Matamata and founded in 1991, the company was bought by the Stevenson Group in 2007, but continues to operate independently.
Rocktec has a strong design capability which it applies to both off-the-shelf equipment and tailored, custom-designed solutions to solve specific problems for its customers.
It has a manufacturing facility in Matamata and also subcontracts fabrication work to smaller companies in the Waikato, around New Zealand and, increasingly, in Australia.
Its design capability has led to the company winning major contracts for plant installation which are handled by a design and project management team.
Rocktec has been exporting regularly to Australia since 2005 and has an office in Yatala, south of Brisbane.
Rocktec’s decision to enter Australia was driven by the growth and market opportunity there, as well as the proximity to customers it offered.
