NZTE seeks management training providers for new voucher scheme

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is inviting providers of management capability building services to apply for the ability to accept NZTE Capability Development Vouchers as partial payment for their services.

The NZTE voucher scheme is being implemented to make it easier for small business owners and managers to access services that help build their management capabilities, which in turn aim to accelerate the growth of their businesses.

Eligible businesses will be able to use the vouchers to help them pay for qualifying services such as training workshops, courses and coaching.

Training providers need to register with NZTE through a formal expression of interest before being eligible to accept vouchers.

Only providers that deliver quality management capability training and development services, and that have a high level of credibility and experience in delivering group learning services and/or one to one coaching services, will be eligible.

NZTE Acting Director, Performance Improvement Euan Purdie said the voucher scheme had been developed as part of the new network of NZTE-TechNZ Regional Business Partners, which is being established in 14 regions around New Zealand.

NZTE-TechNZ Regional Business Partners will assess businesses in each region, point them to information and advice, and allocate the vouchers to eligible businesses.

“Providing vouchers to eligible businesses will give them greater choice, and will also drive quality and innovation in the provision of training and advisory services,” Mr Purdie said.

The vouchers will be available to the managers and owners of eligible businesses with fewer than 50 employees.

“Our regional business partners will operate as a single point of contact in their region for businesses that wish to improve their capabilities, innovate and grow.

“They will have the local influence to encourage businesses to develop their management capability, to use information services, and to undertake research and development,” Mr Purdie said.

Training providers interested in finding out more about the voucher scheme should register or log on to the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) and download the relevant expression of interest document.
