Since 2007, the Regional Strategy Fund has helped regions to develop a better understanding of their economic strengths and priorities, and enabled good collaboration between regional stakeholders. To date, 13 of the 14 regions receiving funding have benefited, with just over $3.5 million allocated across 43 projects.
The Government and its agencies will continue to work directly with businesses and industry groups at a regional level. Regions can continue to apply for funding through the Ministry of Economic Development’s Enterprising Partnerships Fund, with $9.25 million a year available for regional and cross-regional commercially driven projects.
