Collaborative Projects funding is divided into two categories:
- New Zealand - Australia collaborations: New Zealand biotechnology businesses carrying out a commercial project with an Australian partner
- New Zealand – Australia – International collaborations: New Zealand biotechnology businesses carrying out a commercial project with an Australian and an International partner
New Zealand biotechnology businesses in both categories may be eligible for up to $2 million, including GST, of funding from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) to support the project.
The project must be aimed at commercialisation in a market beyond New Zealand and Australia.
For New Zealand-Australia collaborations the New Zealand businesses provide a quarter of the project costs, the Australia New Zealand Biotechnology Partnership Fund (ANZBPF) provides another quarter, and the Australian partner provides the other half.
For New Zealand-Australia-International collaborations, the New Zealand businesses provide a quarter of the project costs, the ANZBPF provides another quarter, the Australian partner provides at least a quarter, and the international partner meets the remainder of the project costs.
