New Zealand biotechnology businesses with a staff member who could professionally benefit from working within an Australian company may be eligible for up to $10,000, including GST, from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) to help fund a placement for up to 12 months.
The Australia New Zealand Biotechnology Partnership Fund (ANZBPF) provides up to $10,000 including GST. Matching funding is required from the New Zealand company.
Eligibility criteria
In addition to the general ANZBPF eligibility criteria, New Zealand applicants must:
- be sending a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident to Australia.
A maximum of two People and Skills Development grants can be applied for in any financial year, to a total value of $10,000 including GST.
Application process and deadlines
Applications for People and Skills Development funding can be made at any time, but are subject to ANZBPF funding availability each financial year.

How to register for an application form
To apply for an ANZBPF programme, you need to complete our online registration form. To do this, follow the steps below.
- Click the “Register to apply” button on this page.
- Answer the mandatory eligibility questions. If you answer correctly, you will then be taken to a page to complete the online registration form.
- Once you have completed this form, you will be taken to a page to download application documents. Save the documents to your computer.
- Within 24 hours of registering, you will also receive an email confirming your registration. The email will include a link back to the web page where you can download the application document. Please keep this email for future reference.
