Awards partners 2012

ANZ is New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s Strategic Partner for the New Zealand International Business Awards, for the third consecutive year.

“Successful businesses demonstrate innovative practice, decisive leadership and a willingness to take advantage of growth opportunities.

“New Zealand’s economic growth depends on New Zealand businesses being successful in overseas markets. This requires insights into growth markets and strong connections. ANZ has a network of specialists across New Zealand and Australia as well as 14 Asian markets, where we have the largest footprint of any of the Australasian banks*.

“Being recognised for excellence is important for current customers and attracting new customers. Recognition is also valuable for the people within the business who commit their energy and ideas.

“ANZ is proud to continue its support of the New Zealand International Business Awards and we look forward to celebrating the achievements of New Zealand businesses succeeding internationally.”

Ministry of Science and Innovation The Ministry of Science and Innovation (MSI) supports all the special category awards. The winners of each special category will receive $50,000 to fund external research and development expertise into their business.

Brett O’Riley, MSI's Deputy Chief Executive, Business Innovation & Investment, says:

"MSI has an ambitious mandate to foster business innovation and create an environment where innovative ideas are born, flourish and deliver results for New Zealand.

"Through our business investment programme, we support businesses that have the ambition and potential to grow through innovation. In the last year alone, we invested over $160 million in more than 840 businesses."

"An important role for us is our involvement on the international stage. We are working with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) to build bridges and open doors in key markets for our exporting companies, as well as to take more New Zealand science and innovation offshore and create opportunities for successful technology transfer within New Zealand."

"This is why we are proud to support the New Zealand International Business Awards again in 2012. As the sponsor of the Special Categories Awards, we want to honour those companies that are leading edge and set an example for others to follow – it could be your time to shine!"

"Supporting these two leadership awards is our way of acknowledging the contribution that visionary New Zealand business leaders are making to the New Zealand economy.  At KPMG our key focus is the contribution we make to the success of our clients.

"It is our view that leadership is the single most important component of success. By partnering with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise we are pleased to celebrate the international success of New Zealand leaders.

"It is no coincidence that many of the past winners of New Zealand International Business Awards are clients of KPMG. We are incredibly proud of the success our clients have had in complex international markets and the support that we provide through our network of 140,000 people across 144 countries around the world.

"Succeeding internationally in the current economic environment requires decisive leadership and expert advice from business specialists with a global mindset and the ability to cut through complexity.
