New Zealand companies actively seeking investment will be able to meet global investors at a forum in March 2010 being organised by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE).
NZTE, in partnership with the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), is hosting the high-level New Zealand-Australia Investment Forum in Auckland on 10 and 11 March.
The event aims to bring together New Zealand and Australian companies seeking investment, corporate leaders from around the world, global investors, senior government officials, and academic opinion leaders.
NZTE Investment New Zealand Director Graham Matthews says attracting foreign direct investment is a highly competitive global industry and New Zealand needs to be match fit.
“Our experience shows that once New Zealand is on their radar, many investors are attracted by what we have to offer. The forum therefore aims to promote investment opportunities to international investors and signal that New Zealand is ‘open for business’,” Mr Matthews says.
He adds the forum will also provide an opportunity to accelerate trans-Tasman investment deals, as well as provide an avenue for delegates to share information, network, and create knowledge.
“New Zealand’s exporters often have a limited ability to raise capital and expand overseas, but foreign direct investment can help address those challenges.
“We hope this conference will help New Zealand companies that are ‘investment-ready’ to make vital international contacts. It’s also a great opportunity to introduce global investors to existing and emerging investment opportunities in Australasia.”
