Assessment and advice The Escalator team, using a consortium of leading private sector advisors, will assess and provide feedback on your company’s funding needs and potential.
Deal brokering Escalator provides assistance to raise capital of up to $5 million, and/or to negotiate strategic partnerships, licensing and joint ventures.
Investment specific workshopsEach year Escalator runs investment workshops throughout New Zealand giving expert updates and insight on investor need and deal structuring, and offering current case studies for discussion.

Please note: Escalator is a service funded by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE). NZTE and the Escalator service providers do not invest directly in the businesses or entrepreneurs that use this service. They provide an opportunity for participants to develop the skills needed to access investment opportunities.
NZTE has contracts with a range of training providers around New Zealand to develop and deliver the Investment Ready Training. We work with those providers to set the framework for courses but as our involvement in the day-to-day delivery is limited, training may vary between providers.

All businesses and entrepreneurs who need to raise funds (up to $5 million) to expand, diversify or commercialise a new concept are eligible for assistance.
Through the application process, companies will need to supply evidence of a genuine need for funding to take their idea further. Priority is given to projects that offer strong potential for growth and investment return.
These evaluation and support services are underwritten by NZTE and provided to clients at no cost. A success fee applies of 6% for capital raised. This is payable to the broker only after capital has been raised or a non-equity deal has been completed.
