The World Class New Zealand programme was set up in 2001 by NZTE and the kea Global Talent Community to tap into the business knowledge, expertise and networks of New Zealanders and 'friends of New Zealand' around the globe.
The World Class New Zealand Network identifies people making a world wide difference to New Zealand businesses. The network members are industry experts who are committed to helping New Zealand's international competitiveness and economic growth.
The first World Class New Zealand Summit was held in Auckland in February 2008. The workshop-style ‘think tank’ brings together network members to examine global trends, their potential impact on New Zealand, and how New Zealand might respond to the opportunities that arise.
Since 2003 the annual World Class New Zealand Awards have recognised successful world-class New Zealanders who generously give their time, knowledge and skills to help New Zealand companies and industries succeed internationally.
