Identifying a buyer/partner

Exporters need to be aware of the risks, as well as the benefits, of forming a partnership with an overseas company in an export market. New Zealand Trade and Enterprise has five services which will help you assess and manage the risks.

Partner relationships

NZTE can help you investigate potential business partners in an overseas market. Our research will identify a shortlist of the most suitable customers, distributors and/or suppliers.

We can either suggest a list of suitable companies, or you can supply a list for review. To compile a partner contacts report, we will:

  • contact every company on the list
  • identify the correct contact person
  • verify contact details
  • ascertain the level of interest in a specific product or service
  • get the answers to any preliminary questions you may have.
