Recognising a gap in the market for its solutions, the company established a United Kingdom office, joined NZTE’s Beachheads Programme in late 2005 and is supported by United Kingdom Trade and Investment.

This case study, published by United Kingdom Trade and Investment, explores Sysdoc’s journey from idea to global documentation solution; from New Zealand to Australia, the United Kingdom, and now Kazakhstan. It explores Sysdoc’s ethos and its approach to accelerating its business growth by operating internationally.

Aftermail - Going global at the speed of email (PDF, 195 KB)

AfterMail was founded in June 2003 in Wellington, New Zealand, by a small team of New Zealand IT professionals. Two years later when the business was sold to Quest, AfterMail had become a leading enterprise e-mail intelligence software product. The founders had established a firm market presence in the email storage and management software market, with more than 130 customers in 9 countries.

This case study, written by Ian Moss for the University of Auckland Business School and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, explores AfterMail’s journey from idea to global software product. It highlights the strategies used by AfterMail to overcome the challenges of fast growth.
