Working in our New Zealand offices

Our New Zealand teams are based in Auckland, Tauranga, Napier, Hamilton, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin.

Team culture and life in the region

As NZTE’s home base, we have the largest team - over 370 people - and offer a broad range of roles and development opportunities. Roles include a mix of commercially-focused customer-facing and core corporate services including Finance, People and Capability, Creative and IT. We also work closely with the New Zealand Government and our Ministers.

We are adventurous and always striving to drive success for our customers. Our friendly and collaborative team demonstrates respect, generosity and care for others – we call this manaaki.

New Zealand-based Customer Managers support export companies throughout the country and connect them with our international teams and in-market contacts.

Our Investment team helps investors around the world connect with investment opportunities across companies, sectors and regions. Our global network gives independent guidance, deep insights, and unparalleled access to people and networks throughout New Zealand.

We like to think we are a country built on ingenuity, poised to disrupt big paradigms from the edge of the world. We generate new ideas that challenge the expected. We’re known for our ‘can-do’ attitude, and our ability to make more from less.

New Zealand is a small country, similar in size to Great Britain or Japan. With a population of only 4.4 million people, it’s also gloriously uncrowded. We are known as one of the most diverse countries in the world, with more than 200 ethnicities residing within our shores. We have become a melting-pot population - but one with some uniting features that make it unique in the world.  Informally we’re known as Kiwis – the name of our national bird.

“The thing that struck me is the good people, the diversity of the roles, and actually getting out to the regions and just seeing all the investment opportunities that lie out there.” Nick Dobson – Investment Manager, Wellington
