Bev Booker has in excess of 25 years’ experience across a wide range of business areas including corporate governance, compliance, risk management and strategic and operational planning.
Bev was most recently Group Company Secretary of Australand Limited (ALZ), an ASX listed diversified property group with a market capitalisation of approximately $2.4 billion. As a member of the senior executive team, Bev contributed to the company’s overall strategic direction and business operations. As part of her role, she also had responsibility for the compliance function in respect of Australand’s financial services licences.
Prior to joining Australand, Bev was Group Company Secretary for the Australian Agricultural Company (AACo), Australia’s largest beef cattle producer. In this role, Bev was also part of the senior executive team and, in addition, had responsibility for the risk management and compliance functions across the Group.
Previously, Bev was General Manager and Company Secretary for the Australian and New Zealand Health Management Network Limited (trading as Health Leaders Network) and prior to that, Bev held a number of senior management positions in the financial services industry including Group Company Secretary of AMP Limited and Head of Finance & Reporting for AMP Asset Management Limited. She commenced her career at AMP in Wellington, prior to transferring to the Group’s Head Office in Sydney.
In 2002, Bev completed a 12 month contract with Standards Australia International where she developed the Australian series of Standards on Corporate Governance under the chairmanship of Henry Bosch AO.
Bev has served on a number of Boards and Committees, including large trustee and custodian companies, a medium sized credit union and various not for profit entities.
