Anne is an award-winning entrepreneur in the UK construction sector who is passionate about her New Zealand heritage, growing businesses and bringing people together.
Originally from the South Island of New Zealand, Anne completed a BA with Honours from Victoria University in Wellington. In the early part of her career, she worked in marketing and sales in the tourism, hospitality and events industries. Later, she moved to London and co-founded businesses in the UK construction sector. Working for 16 years as an entrepreneur and company Director has given her deep insights into a range of topics connected to construction, including industry operations, channels to market, sales planning, business strategy and generating new growth opportunities. Anne is also a successful property developer with in-depth knowledge of the Greater London property markets.
In recognition of her achievements in business, Anne has received several awards including the prestigious National NatWest Everywoman Award in 2017. In 2018 she was runner-up in the 2018 Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Recently Anne was recognised as one of the UK’s top 2020 female entrepreneurs (F:Entrepreneur). She is a Freeman of the City of London and is a Liveryman in the Worshipful Company of Plumbers, one of London’s oldest liveries.
Anne is a regular columnist and speaker on construction industry topics as an official Woman In Construction ambassador (WIC). She has featured on BBC Breakfast and contributed articles for the Daily Mail as well as many other media publications.
Anne lives in Hertfordshire, UK, with her husband and 2 children.
