Chair, Japan Beachheads
The Chair of Beachheads Japan, Masayoshi Morimoto was senior executive vice president at Sony Corporation; contributing significantly to the company during his 40 year career. Between 1972 and 1997, he worked at Sony America, managing operations of the factory in Mexico.
During his career, Masayoshi Morimoto was president of Sony Manufacturing Co of America and Sony Brazil. After he moved back to Japan, he spent four years as a managing director in charge of HR, IR, PR at Sony HQ, after which he was transferred to Aiwa Corporation and successfully merged the company with Sony in 2002.
Mr Morimoto is active in the education sector based in Tokyo. He obtained significant insights on the sector while he was acting CEO of Benesse Corporation, the largest correspondence education corporation in Japan, as well as the owner of Berlitz language school for four years after his time in Aiwa.
Mr Morimoto graduated from Tokyo University in 1962 with a degree in Law.
