Carlos Fernández

Originally graduating from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del in Peru, Carlos also holds and LLM Master in International and Commercial Law by the University of Buckingham in England, where he graduated with merit.

His professional experience is broad, working for several years specialsiing in corporate, foreign investment and commercial matters in Peru, and also in London where he provided corporate and immigration advice to European clients concerning operations in Latin America. He has also previously held the role of Legal Director in charge of the Corporate and Commercial Legal Area for PwC Peru.

In addition to his role as a New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Beachhead Advisor, Carlos presently  holds the position of general counsel of the Commercial Office of Galicia (Spain) in Peru, and is also recognised as expert consultant for Business Finland.

Carlos is currently a senior lecturer of Corporate Law and Comparative Corporate Law at ESAN Business School and a main columnist in Conexion ESAN business network.

He was member of the Law Society of England and Wales International Section and he is also member of the International Bar Association Interns Alumni.

Nominated as the recommended corporate law expert in Peru by Global Law Experts (GLE) in 2014.

Carlos is the author of business book ‘Temas de Inversión Extranjera y Derecho Empresarial’ published by Palestra Editores.

Carlos has been appointed a member of ‘La Orden de Caballeros del Camino de Santiago’ - an organisation recognised by the Spanish Kingdom.
