Campbell has spent over 10 years as a lawyer in China advising foreign companies on their China projects including approaches to market entry, exit strategies, negotiation of joint ventures, reviewing existing business footprints, M&A projects and navigating regulatory requirements.

Before relocating from Shanghai to Auckland at the beginning of 2017, Campbell was a corporate counsel in the Shanghai office of Clifford Chance, and is now a partner at Anderson Creagh Lai, a boutique Auckland based commercial law firm.

Prior to commencing his career in China in 2003, Campbell spent 2 years in Beijing in the mid-1990's studying Mandarin which the catalyst for his career in China, allowing him to practice in both languages. Campbell also spent 3 years in Sydney with Australian firm, Allens Arthur Robinson from 2005 – 2008, in their commercial department advising on M&A, capital markets and funds management projects.
