Michael has had CEO roles in Australia, New Zealand and India for the past 15 years, working for international media companies running divisions of those companies around the world.
In addition to CEO roles, Michael has moved through the corporate ranks holding sales and marketing positions and has had responsibility for multiple supply chain and distribution units. This has provided him with a practical understanding of businesses both large and small and in the management of multiple sites across more than one country.
This has resulted in a strong understanding of the financial imperatives for a range of different sized businesses alongside the legal and contractual environment they operate in.
During a 25 year career Michael has focussed on strategic development and building business capability to deliver growth domestically and internationally; organically as well as through acquisition. In his corporate life he is recognised as someone able to help change happen and for his capacity to see opportunities outside accepted wisdom. He has placed particular emphasis on developing strategic partnership opportunities in order to leverage greater access and build stronger businesses. He believes in the value of collaboration and understands the need to build strong collegial relationships with all stakeholders (suppliers, customers, staff etc) in order to expand and enhance the narrative for any business.
Michael also has a passion for and highly developed understanding of the role of governance and the value to business of good leadership. Michael is the chair of New Zealand Beachhead Advisors and has been a member of a number of industry and not for profit boards and advisory panels as well as executive boards both in Australia, India and New Zealand.
