Pak Bernie has been active as senior advisor to investors, corporations, bilateral agencies, as well as central and local governments in Indonesia and around the region. He is currently the President of Indonesian Association of Urban & Regional Planners, and also member of the Advisory Council of APEC Center for Urban Infrastructure Financing based in Melbourne, and Fellow/Faculty at the Salzburg Global Seminar, a globalization think tank based in Salzburg, Austria.

His business acumen came from his extensive experience in the infrastructure sector, Public Private Partnership and major capital projects. His experience has been extensive and unique, as he had successfully completed significant transactions in infrastructure assets and businesses, including ports, toll roads, water and power.

Pak Bernie has a degree in urban and regional planning from the Bandung Institute of Technology. He started his career as planning engineer intern in Brisbane, Australia. He has had senior management corporate experience as director as well as board member at PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk, PT Jababeka Infrastructure, and as Chief Representative Officer for Hawkins Infrastructure Ltd. New Zealand. He has had extensive experience in senior positions with leading global companies including American Express Bank, Director for Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers as Director of Business Development. In 2017, his Cities & Infrastructure practice in HD Asia Advisory was integrated to Deloitte South East Asia, and he is appointed as Country Head, Deloitte Infrastructure Financial Advisory.

Early in his career, he was awarded the American Express Worldwide Best Performer Award in 1993, the highest chairman’s award for performance and customer service (he remains the only Indonesian to have received the award).
