Trade Commissioner, Saudi Arabia
Based at the New Zealand Embassy in Riyadh, Chris is responsible for NZTE’s activities throughout Saudi Arabia.
Prior to taking up his position in mid-2014, Chris was NZTE’s Private Secretary to the office of the Hon Tim Groser, New Zealand’s Minister of Trade and Climate Change.
In his 14 years with NZTE and its predecessors, Chris has had a number of roles in New Zealand and internationally including as Trade Commissioner and Consul in New York, five years in London assisting New Zealand companies enter that market, and as a customer manager based in Auckland.
Chris’s experience also includes as a researcher for the United Nations Development Programme, working with a range of start-up ICT companies in the UK, and a London investment bank. Chris also spent two years in Japan.
Chris has a Master of International Relations from Macquarie University, Sydney Australia and a Bachelor of Arts and Post Grad Diploma in Political Science and History from the University of Otago.
