Tikanga-led Impact Investment: Moving Closer to a Maori World view.
How do you balance the need for profit with a long-term view of your community's wellbeing? Consider a tikanga-led approach, where the Māori world view guides your Impact Investing. See four new guides here, from Aotearoa New Zealand.

For Māori, the over-arching goal of any investment is to create sustainable prosperity and intergenerational well-being. Their purposeful approach to building local economies and proactive job creation is aligned with the global need to increase the health and vitality of communities and ecosystems in a post-pandemic world.
In the investment world, where financial returns have often been the over-riding focus, there is a class of investments that balances this with other positive results and is often associated with philanthropists or philanthropic funds. Impact investing looks to generate a measurable, beneficial social or environmental impact alongside the financial return.
Aotearoa New Zealand's Impact Investing scene has grown from strength to strength and impact advisory group The Connective believes that our impact sector could become a global exemplar – by applying the systems thinking that comes from indigenous intelligence.
NZTE's Māori Investment team worked alongside The Connective to produce four short guides which show how to create and implement a tikanga-led (cultural practices) approach. Starting with a Māori world view and then developing an investment strategy.
The four guides cover: Moving closer to a Māori world view; Understanding connections; Delivering on your vision; Creating a culture of impact.
