InvestHER: NZTE's female founder investment showcase
Showcasing or celebrating successful women founders who have raised capital is a positive step in helping to challenge gendered 'entrepreneurial' stereotypes. In April 2021, six industry leading New Zealand female founders pitched to a room of more than 100 investors as part of NZTE's investment showcase, InvestHER.

Research from the Harvard Business Review shows that, globally, women-led start-ups received just 2.3% of Venture Capital funding in 2020. Closer to home, Angel Association New Zealand reported that female-founded ventures here in Aotearoa received just 18% of all angel investment in 2018.
While female founders continue to miss out, the research shows that showcasing or celebrating successful women founders who have raised capital is a positive step in helping to challenge gendered 'entrepreneurial' stereotypes.
