New Invest NZ agency key to economic growth
The Government has announced the establishment of a new, standalone Crown Entity focused on attracting more foreign investment into New Zealand, as part of its focus on economic growth.
The new Invest New Zealand agency, modelled on Irish and Singaporean best practice, will be focussed on:
Attracting and matching FDI into high-potential sectors, to boost productivity and innovation.
Increasing research and development (R&D) investment in New Zealand by multinational companies.
Encouraging skilled professionals to enhance domestic capabilities and global connections.
NZTE’s expertise in this space has been recognised, and the organisation has been asked to support and incubate the establishment of the new Invest NZ agency.
